The USB / USB‑C camera isn't listed?
Plug it in — the list updates by itself, no restart needed. Otherwise press Rescan.
Through a hub or dock, try a direct port; some docks only pass power.
Close anything else holding the camera (Zoom, Meet, OBS, another tab).
A camera can appear more than once — if one shows no picture, pick the next one.
On Linux, confirm the system sees it: v4l2-ctl --list-devices
